FERGUSON FURY

Thank goodness it has all died down, [www.telegraph.co.uk/opinion. 01.01.2006] though the indignant snorts are still echoing in the Ossianic gloaming. Probably the cohorts of Rampant Scotland (my country right or wrong) have taken time out from looking for Niall's address to present him with the makings for a duel. because he dared to say what they are too scared to admit - that the whole New Year experience is a super bummer, culturally, physically, financially. No doubt they have returned to the gloomy meditation of a declining Scotland whose only growth area is bureaucracy.
Perhaps they should recall from the alcoholic haze of the week before and the week after New Year that their favourite cry is "Wha's like us? De'il the yin - and they're aw deid!" (Translate: "Who is like us? Devil the one - and they are all dead!" Doesn't that say it all for low self esteem?
